Meet @waterthruskin, also known as Instagram influencer Valeria H, founder of agency WTSConnect, and advocate of all things green. Valeria focusses on Lifestyle with a Conscience; largely eco travel, ethical fashion, food and yoga. WaterThruSkin has an incredible energy, and is changing the game in terms of ethical living- offering positive and life affirming ways to love the planet and change the world, but also to make our own lives better in the process.

How the Movement started.
“I wanted to create a movement and I wanted the movement to be powerful and refreshing and cleansing like water, but with the power to penetrate skin. Reach your heart. Reach your soul. That’s how WaterThruSkin came to life.”

Valeria was born and raised in Bolivia, but has been living in Miami for the past ten years. After working in private banking for five years she left to “pursue things that set my soul on fire. I became a certified Yoga Teacher, a certified Vegan Chef, a full time conscious travel and lifestyle blogger.”

Just in time for #worldenvironmentday! A sneak peek of my eco-friendly and fair-trade apartment. Last month I wrote a blog post about @ikeausa raising the bar high with their sustainability practices, and received such a positive reaction from you guys, I've decided to partner with them again and share more eye-opening and uplifting information like their Social Entrepreneurship Initiative, Innehallsrik. This initiative is a collaboration between @ikeausa and women in India with the goal of providing them with a platform and the right tools needed to showcase and sell their handmade textiles and baskets to the world. This collaboration is not only providing jobs to these women, but also giving them hopes of a brighter future and economic empowerment. Each product under this initiative is not only beautifully handmade with natural materials such as banana fibers, but also shares the story and face of women in India who have the talent and vision of entrepreneurs. Another proof that big brands are becoming more and more conscious! Go to my blog to read more and become a wiser consumer! 🌎💚♻️

No stone has been left unturned on Valeria’s Instagram and blog. The Water Thru Skin Website covers everything from non profit organisations, to periods to sustainable mattresses with aplomb, as well as focussing on the popular interests such as sustainable fashion and veganism.

FASHION
The fashion section of Water Thru Skin not only focusses on what to wear and where to buy it (although thanks!), but on educating the reader on the impact the clothes you buy have on the environment.

“Fashion. It’s the second most polluting industry after oil. Did you know that? Or that through fast fashion, the hands that make your clothes get paid less than $2 each day? Or that we produce 4 lbs of waste every day? Or that old (non biodegradable) clothing pieces are part of these piles of trash that sit on landfills for years? These, and many more, are the reasons why I opted for a sustainable and fair-trade closet four years ago.”

Can you guys say trash and nature turned into fashion??!😍😋♻️ Here’s my sustainable and ethical look for @miamifashionweek’s influencer’s brunch yesterday. One more proof that thoughtful fashion can be cool. Sexy. Boho. Chic. Or whatever you want to make it! It’s your choice. Don’t follow trends. Get creative! Make your own. 😉🎨 I wore a fair-trade, handmade and hand-painted skirt and top by @nibeachwear, made of sustainable fibers and benefiting homeless animals in Puerto Rico. A bag made of plantbased raffia cellulose, organic cotton inner-lining, and vegan suede straps made of recycled plastic bottles by @thehfscollective. And a pair of handmade and fairtrade earrings empowering women in Colombia @mpwears. What do you guys think? You like? 💚🌎 I also got to spend some time with this beautiful soul @irmastyle, and met two conscious humans @carmela_nyc and @angelesalmuna! That’s a wrap for me this week. Time for lots of self-love and family-time before I travel again. #liveconsciously #sustainablefashion #gogreen #ethicallymade #waterthruskin #miamifashionweek #modaconsciente #modaetica

Back in Miami but still reminiscing about Jamaica and @rockhousehotel! 🌴🌊 So…I’ve been getting a lot of questions from you guys on a daily basis about my life, journey, decisions, and sustainable lifestyle.
